Sri Anand Desai

A prominent Art of Living faculty trained by His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji, belongs to affluent & well-known family in Dahod city, Gujarat. He had completed his B.E. Mechanical from M.S.University of Vadodara & had a successful career before devoting himself to teaching these programs.

In the year 1996 Anand ji was sent forcefully in the Part-1 course (Happiness Program) by his father. As an intellectual person he never believed in such spiritual programs but during those six days he experienced a big transformation in his outlook towards life. He was inspired by Guruji and the Art of Living Courses and encouraged by his deep desire to serve the humanity, he became a Art of Living teacher. He has traveled India & abroad, and taught the Art of Living Courses to thousands of students since 1997.

Now, Anand ji is one of the key senior faculty and speaker with the international Art of Living Foundation. In addition to teaching the Art of Living Courses, Anandji has also developed many new centers & lead many service projects & activities in India.

His wife Smt. Nimisha Desai first experienced the Happiness Program in 1996, which marked the beginning of a deep and transformative journey with the Art of Living. Holding a B.Sc. and B.Ed., she went on to become a faculty member in 2004 and has since been an integral part of the organisation's teaching community.

She actively teaches the Happiness Program, YES and YES+ courses, guiding young participants and adults alike through the Art of Living's foundational practices. Her warm and approachable teaching style has touched the lives of countless students over the years.

Beyond these, Nimisha Ji is also a faculty for higher level programs — the Sahaj Samadhi Meditation Course (SSM) and the Advanced Meditation Program (AMP). Her ability to lead participants into deeper states of meditation reflects years of dedicated practice and sincere service.

Their daughter Bhakti has done M.Tech. in Cyber Security and earlier worked as a Deputy Manager in a multinational professional services network (Big Four). She chose to follow her entrepreneurial passion, transitioning from her corporate career to establish her own venture, 'LaLa EnergiaEnergia', which she now runs successfully.

Bhakti is married to Bhargav Merai, a professional Indian cricketer known for his consistency and solid technique as a top-order batsman in domestic cricket. He currently represents and captains the Railways cricket team in the Ranji Trophy, leading the side in India’s premier first-class cricket competition.

Earlier in his career, he represented the Gujarat cricket team in major domestic tournaments including the Vijay Hazare Trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Bhargav was recognized as the Best Under-19 Cricketer for the 2009–10 season by the Board of Control for Cricket in India and was awarded the prestigious M. A. Chidambaram Trophy for his outstanding performances.

Through consistent performances in domestic cricket, he also earned selection to the India A cricket team, showcasing his talent at a higher competitive level.

An inspiration for many - Anand Desai ji along with his teaching responsibilities continues to guide thousands through knowledge and meditation, he remains a devoted successful family man, supported by Nimisha ji’s grace, Bhakti’s achievements, and Bhargav’s sporting excellence. He loves singing & reading books.
